Organizing media with views and collections

Traditional file systems enforce a single, strict folder hierarchy. Object storage such as S3 works differently, and AirFrame.One (AF.1) uses that to your advantage: the same media assets can be presented in multiple logical views, without duplicating or relocating anything in storage.

Available views

  • File and folder view: browse your assets using the familiar folder paths from your storage.
  • Process-oriented views (coming soon): group assets dynamically by workflow stage, such as Ingest, Edit, QC, Ready to Deliver or Archive. The original file and folder view always remains available.
  • Collections (coming soon): group assets into user-definable, shareable collections, for example Nice shots, My Music or Reference shots.

Search and filter results can be used to move files into views or to create collections. You can switch between structural, process-based and collection views at any time; it is always the same underlying media.

Folder operations without touching S3

Creating folders, moving folders (including nesting) and moving files into folders within the AF.1 interface are implemented exclusively as metadata changes inside the platform. No folder structures are created, modified or removed on your S3 bucket, and no create, delete or rename actions take place on the storage side.
